Praise the Lord for chamber music!
Just had a rip-roaring morning crashing through Schumann (both) and Elgar Violin Sonatas with Jane F, an excellent violinist of recent acquaintance. Next time we will be slightly more up-to-date with Dohnanyi, Rodrigo, Prokofiev, Shostakovich and Nielsen's 2nd. May be a trifle harder on the brain and ears, but no doubt worth it!
And next week it's on to piano trios - Dvorak F minor and more Schumann. Music as it should be enjoyed - making it yourself, at home, with comedy.
